FAQ’s

What do I need to do or bring to my tattoo session?

How to prepare for your tattoo session –

Get a good night’s rest the night before your tattoo so that your mind and body are rested and you can feel more comfortable and relaxed on the day.

Bring along snacks and drinks. Keep your body hydrated before, during, and after your tattoo sessions. Your body and skin will be better off for it.

Eating an adequate meal before your session and eating during long sessions will keep your blood sugar at an optimal level and help with fatigue and many other things.

Moisturise your skin leading up to and on the day of your appointment.

Always shower before your appointments and wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Be prepared for your clothes to get a bit messy depending on where the tattoo is in relation to your clothing.

Are deposits refundable?

Deposits are non-refundable. Deposits are required for bookings because that appointment is held exclusively for the client, therefore not allowing the artist or shop to book another appointment in that time frame. If a client doesn’t show up to the appointment, the artist or shop does not have time to fill that spot. If a client wants to reschedule their appointment, please give as much notice as possible. If an appointment is rescheduled with more than 24 hours’ notice, the deposit can transfer over to that appointment. With any less than 24 hours’ notice, the deposit is lost due to the above-mentioned reasons.

A deposit is always subtracted from the total amount of the tattoo price.

Can I get tattooed while pregnant or breastfeeding?

No. Please let us know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before you book in so we can explain why it is unsafe to get tattooed during this time.

Will I expect to see my design before the tattoo?

Each individual artist has their own procedure for this. They all work differently, please ask the artist before your booking.

How much will it cost?

Every artist charges differently due to many different reasons. Please ask an artist or counter staff for quotes.

Some tattoos are priced hourly or by a half day or full day rate.

Some are a set price for the design.

Does it hurt?

Yes. Tattoos do hurt. Everyone manages pain differently and there are definitely areas of the body that hurt more than others. Some people report very little pain and others more so.

If you come prepared for your session following our protocol above you will have a much greater experience.

How long will it take?

Check with your artist or front counter staff when booking your session.

Is it safe and clean to get a tattoo?

We are a Queensland licensed tattoo studio with Gold Coast City Council approval. We pride ourselves on cleanliness and professionalism and stay up to date with infection control procedures.

Will I need ID?

Yes you need to be 18 years old minimum as per Queensland law. You will need to sign a consent form and show ID before your booking.

What’s the best time of year to get tattooed?

All seasons are perfect to get a tattoo. Often the winter months are better for convenience and healing due to less harsh sun and heat conditions.

Do you tattoo hands, face, fingers, sides of, neck?

Each artist is different, but generally yes, although these areas are prone to ink falling out and each artist has a different take on touch-ups. Some offer a free touch-up on those areas, but mainly touch-up sessions on these areas are charged again because the studio and artist have to set up their tools, medical supplies, and disposable equipment at a cost to them. Usually, if a request is made to tattoo someone in an area that can affect their life, one of our artists or counter staff will have a friendly discussion with the client about the potential impact of that decision on their life.

Can I bring a friend for support if I’m nervous?

Yes you can bring a friend, partner or family member to an appointment if you’re nervous and want support. We kindly ask that you limit that to one person. Due to the small work space and health and safety reasons we may at times ask the support person to remain seated at the front of the shop rather than next to you the entire tattoo. This is usually decided on a case by case basis due to many contributing factors.
